The Re-Birth of the Deuce Box – Aydan Bailey Preps ‘57 Chevy Wagon For Upgrades to Defend Title at 2026 Sick Michigan Miles Presented by Driven Racing Oil!
After some trials and heartbreaks, Aydan Bailey scored an overdue victory at the 2025 edition of Sick Michigan Miles presented by Driven Racing Oil. The ’57 Chevrolet wagon put up a 5.24 average for the week, getting Aydan the top spot, an orange Sick The Mag helmet, and a celebration for Aydan and father Tom, who was Aydan’s co-pilot for Sick Michigan Miles.
But, in pushing the station wagon to those times, Aydan also discovered the limitations of some things, as well as some items to re-do for the next outing. Nearly a year later, Aydan, Tom, and Andy Mcconnell, got together to assess and determine what needed to be done to get the station wagon ready to defend its Sick Michigan Miles title.

Both this ’57 Chevy wagon, a.k.a. ‘The Deuce Box’ and its first version, ‘Shitbox of Doom’, have had some interesting tales. A quick recap: Aydan got the ‘Shitbox of Doom’ from original owner Richie Crampton, who then helped Aydan as he learned about the car and what would be a chaotic month of work to get the station wagon ready for Aydan’s first event: Rocky Mountain Race Week 2021.

“After Michigan Miles we kind of just put it away,” Tom Bailey said about the wagon. Aydan elaborated on it a bit more by stating ‘it was hurt, so we put it away.”
Knowing that the wagon has a chassis and roll cage capable of much more than its quickest runs of 5.13 in the eighth-mile, and an 8.20 on the quarter-mile, Tom and Aydan have come up with some new plans for The Deuce Box. These were detailed in the latest video on Tom Bailey YouTube channel below:
