Former UFC Champion and MMA Star Randy Couture Airlifted to Burn Center After Serious Injuries Sustained in Racing Crash

Former 6-time UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) and MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter and commentator Randy Couture was involved in a testing crash at Flying H Drag Strip in Missouri on Tuesday.

Reports are that Couture was airlifted to a burn center in Kansas City with injuries.

According to TMZ and ESPN sources, Couture suffered first and second-degree burns, smoke inhalation, and trauma injuries in the crash.

Couture, a motorcycle enthusiast and former US Army Sergeant, was announced as part of the SCAG Racing expansion with the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) to race the popular Pro Mod class.

Couture’s Pro Mod ride was revealed at the recent Route 66 NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway in May this year, and Couture had started the licensing procedure, as well as testing the new ride, for a racing debut later this season.

We’ll post updates as they become available.
