Lutz, Rick Ware Racing Join Forces
Street car legend Jeff Lutz, along with Top Fuel driver Clay Millican, have announced that American motorsports giant Rick Ware Racing (RWR) will be officially entering the sport of drag and drive.
The team, famous for their accomplishments across NASCAR and more recently the NHRA, will be taking ownership of the Mad Max Camaro, Lutz’s street-legal Pro Mod. With its fresh water-jacketed Noonan Hemi combo capable of well over 3000 horsepower, the car is expected to soon be back at the front of the drag and drive field.
“I’m officially joining Rick Ware Racing,” Lutz said. “I will still be the driver and Rick wants us to do all the drag and drives we can.”
Millican said that Ware saw the value of drag and drive to the motorsports world, and he wanted to be involved not just at a team level but also personally.
“Rick is absolutely interested in driving and being a co-pilot,” Millican said. “The plan is for Rick and I to compete in something at Sick Week, with Jeff and his son Jeffery in Mad Max. The time of year works out perfectly for all our schedules.”
The combination of Lutz’s experience alongside the resources of Rick Ware Racing is going to be exciting to watch for drag and drive fans everywhere. And while we can’t say anything more specific just yet, keep your eye out for some more exciting announcement about Mad Max to come soon!
