Sick On The Green – Over $60,000 in Payouts and New Lil Gangsta’s and Street Eliminator 10.10 Classes – May 29th-31st, 2025 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky
Following the success of Sick At The Rock presented by Motion Raceworks, April 10-12th at Rockingham Dragway, Sick The Magazine will host our second smaller event, Sick On The Green, May 29th – 31st, 2025 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky.
In addition to classes inspired by the former National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) and National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) series, we will bring our new Sick Street Car Challenge class, as well as the popular Lil Gangsta’s 5.30 No-Time class, and Street Eliminator 10.10 Index class, to Bowling Green, Kentucky!
Sick’s second event - Sick On The Green - is May 29th-31st at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky. We’re bringing eight classes to the party, including the popular Lil Gangsta’s class with $10K on the line and our new Sick Street Car Challenge class with $32,000 up for grabs!! It all takes place on the last week in May in Bowling Green, Kentucky! For more details on Sick On The Green, including discounted advance tickets and entries, and details on over $60K in payouts, CLICK HERE!
This second Sick The Magazine smaller event of 2025 already boasts north of $60,000 in payouts, and following the results of our recently held event in North Carolina, we have high hopes for the Sick On The Green event. “We appreciate everyone that came out to Rockingham to be a part of Sick At The Rock,” said Tom Bailey. “We looked at results, listened to competitors, and made a few changes for our next event, Sick On The Green.”
The newly formed Small Tire Pro Stock class, a 7-second naturally aspirated quarter-mile class on a 10.5-inch width slick, started their 6-race series by joining us for their first event at Sick At The Rock. It would be a record-setting affair, as Dwight Ausmus clocked four runs under the previous NMCA series N/A 10.5” class record.
The 1972 Firebird of Ausmus would not only be the first to clock a 7.5-second time under the class rules with a 7.59 in qualifying, but he’d add three more 7.5-second runs between qualifying and the final round, the best being a 7.54 at 180 mph blast in the semifinal round. Can he repeat his performances in Bowling Green next month at Sick On The Green?
The popular Lil Gangsta’s 5.30 No-Time class will join the Sick On The Green line-up!! A $10,000 winner-take-all payout combines with a no time slips / scoreboards off format to keep the competition interesting. The class is based around a 4-tenths pro tree, a 5.30 index, and a small tire format. For more details and class rules, visit our event page by CLICKING HERE!
Sick The Magazine’s new Sick Street Car Challenge class returns in Kentucky, a two-day drag and drive format (Friday May 30th and Saturday May 31st) that will compete on an eighth-mile distance. Street legal machines will battle for $32,000 in prize money across over two-dozen categories, with the ability to stack more than one category for huge payouts!
Here’s how it will work: each competitor will be required to hand in a total of three time slips to make up their average for the two days, with a minimum of one time slip from each day. The cruise route will be revealed to racers after their first run is handed in, and they must complete the route before racing begins on Saturday.
There are 32 categories available, from manufacturer awards such as Quickest Chevy and Quickest Ford, to engine types like Quickest Diesel and even Quickest Rotary, even Most Consistent and Best Street Race Average (2 awards - 5.35 or slower, and 7.36 or slower). Each class carries a $1000 prize, and racers are eligible for any award they qualify for. Got the nastiest Dodge that’s also the quickest stick shift, spraying nitrous on a 235 tire? You could walk away with $4000 right there! A full list of the categories is available at the event page at sickthemagazine.com – CLICK HERE!
You spoke up, so we’re giving competitors another chance – the Street Eliminator 10.10 Index class is back on the list of classes for Sick On The Green. The class follows in the footsteps of the popular Street Race 8.60 class, with small tire street-legal rides going wheels up on a 10.10 index. The four classes mentioned join a solid line up of classes we ran at the Sick At The Rock event, and are bringing back for Bowling Green:
- Coyote Stock: Ford cars with factory sealed Coyote crate engines and manual transmissions, on a 28 x 10.5" width slick tire, stick shifting to wheelies and 9-second times.
- Street Race 8.60 Index: Street cars and trucks vying in side-by-side competition, on an 8.60-second quarter-mile index.
- Open Comp: Cars and trucks in the 7-14 second range, quarter-mile competition format, using commonly accepted Open Comp class rules.
- Nostalgia Super Stock / Nostalgia Muscle Car Combo: 1955-1985 period-correct nostalgia cars in the 8-15 second range, on a quarter-mile distance, big and small tire cars (Nostalgia Super Stock), and small tire cars (Nostalgia Muscle Car).
