An event that celebrates not just stout competition for the win light, but ‘double takes’ at the scoreboards for the staggering performances, the World Cup Finals brings together a stout field of racers from both the domestic and import side to battle it out at the legendary Maryland International Raceway.
For their 30th anniversary in 2026, the World Cup Finals brings a new name to the team for the all-important elements of race direction and track prep. But with the knowledge base of working a variety of events, on different tracks and different conditions, Sick Prep brings the experience to make a successful event.

“World Cup Finals is an event that thousands look forward to each year,” said Thomas Bemis of Sick Prep. “The intense competition between the racers, as well as the demands to have a surface to produce records, brings the pressure to a level that requires maximum effort on all fronts.”
"But that’s just the start,” Bemis continued. “A great race surface is nothing without proper race direction and management. But with Gavin Carter on board in the role of race director, the event couldn't be in better hands.”
Bemis and Carter both have first-hand experience at Maryland International Raceway and World Cup Finals, and that combined with their years of working in a multitude of conditions, gives them a leg up on prepping and managing in what can be challenging conditions.
“I’ve said this before when it comes to prep: we don’t exist inside a bubble,” said Bemis. “If you’re going off of a playbook, or doing the same thing because it’s what people want to see, then you’re not doing it right.”
The work for World Cup Finals for Sick Prep, Miller Brothers Productions, and Maryland International Raceway will start well before the first race rigs enter the track, Bemis and Carter are looking forward to working with the crew at Miller Brother Productions and Maryland International Raceway.
"Sick Prep joining the MIR and MBP track prep crews creates a dream team," said Jason Miller of Miller Brothers Productions.
“Getting the call to do this event is a big deal,” said Bemis. “Jason Miller, the Miller Brother Productions and Maryland International Raceway crews work hard to produce an event with the interest and rich history of the World Cup Finals. They are putting their trust in Sick Prep to be a part of preparing the stage and upholding the high standards they’ve set, and we’re looking forward to that challenge.”
From record setting prep in heads up and drag and drive racing, to the consistent surfaces needed when running for big purses in bracket competition, Sick Prep has the 2026 resume to show they can handle it all.
