Motion Raceworks Sick Summer 2027 Sold Out on Competitor Spots – Sick The Magazine Has 4 More Event Options in 2027 That You Can Participate In, Plus Sick Ward and Sick Spit Show & Shine Spots!

When we debuted Sick Summer in 2023, it brought the same kind of excitement as our initial drag and drive event, Sick Week, did in 2022. Combine together some well-known quarter-mile tracks, some great track prep overseen by Sick Prep team, some shorter drives, and a summer time vibe, it was a hit right out of the gate!

Because of all these factors, Sick Summer competitor spots have been in high demand since the beginning, with the last couple years seeing the ‘Sold Out’ tag appear in less than five minutes.

If you didn’t grab one of those coveted competitor spots, there are multiple ways to join us for the adventure of Sick Summer, including a Sick Ward cruiser spot, Sick Spit Show & Shine, and discounted spectator tickets.

But, Sick The Magazine will host four more event opportunities in 2027, giving you the chance to experience new destinations, and experience new memories, with our next event, Sick Michigan Miles, featuring a first for Sick The Magazine.

Your support of Sick The Magazine - the official print publication of drag and drive - as well as our events, has fueled us to offer SIX events for the 2027 season! Find out more by visiting the Sick The Magazine Event page by CLICKING HERE!

Drag and drive enthusiast and competitor, as well as the man behind Sick the Magazine, Tom Bailey and team have worked hard since our first drag and drive event in 2022 to offer more options for more enthusiasts. Whether it focuses on our staple Sick Week and Sick Summer events, or one of our new events like Sick Smokies and Sick Michigan Miles, the Sick The Mag team sweats the details to deliver an enjoyable event, no matter how you’re enjoying it.

“With my background as a competitor, I’ve wanted to deliver a different kind of drag and drive event,” said Tom. “Since we got our start, we’ve worked to refine Sick Week and Sick Summer each year, and that’s due in part to part to a great team of people, and the support the drag and drive community shows us.”

For Bailey, 2025 provided a unique opportunity to showcase his home state of Michigan on Sick Michigan Miles. And although the event was supposed to be a ‘one-off’ deal, demand and support brought it back with some changes for 2026. But Bailey and the Sick The Mag team are bringing a bigger surprise for the 2027 edition of the event.

“I’ve mentioned how big it is to support these race tracks,” Tom said. “Well, I’m doing it myself by bringing back Lapeer International Dragway in Michigan as Sick Dragway for 2027. And, this will be the host track for Sick Michigan Miles in 2027.”

“The Sick The Mag slogan ‘For The Adventure’ is more than just a couple words,” Tom continued. “It can mean something different to each competitor, each Sick Ward participant, and even every spectator that joins us. Our team listens, and we strive to deliver events that enthusiasts eagerly look forward to each year.”

Similar to our previous Sick Michigan Miles events, you can bank on a fun week exploring the home state of Sick of Magazine, August 22nd through the 28th, 2027. “Showcasing Michigan is getting ramped up a little more for 2027,” said Tom. “With the work on Sick Dragway to get it ready for 2027 racing action, we’re ready for a big third year in Michigan!”

“Even before we got to work on Sick Dragway, another Sick Michigan Miles was a given. So many people, from competitors to spectators and Sick Warders, came out, supported us, and enjoyed it. Doing it again became an easy choice, and the adventure we’re planning for 2027 is not to be missed.”

As we’ve detailed previously, Sick The Magazine will offer multiple additional events to our popular Sick Week and Sick Summer events in 2027. “The community spoke up and showed up, and we took notice,” said Tom. “Because of that, we have two week-long style events joining Sick Week and Sick Summer for 2027, and a couple shorter ones in the works.”

The fourth Sick week-long event for the 2027 season is also our newest one: Sick On The Gulf, set to take place on October 3rd through the 9th, 2027. It will be based on the Gulf Coast, and incorporate tracks in Louisiana, Alabama and Florida. It should make for a fun week of cruising and racing.

Sick On The Gulf will continue our fall event spotlight on Gassers, and we’re planning to once again have a solid showing of the trio of Gasser classes. Make sure to fill out the expression of interest form for early event entry opportunities by CLICKING HERE.

As we’ve done at all our week-long events, the popular Summit Racing Equipment Sick Ward Presented by Peak Performance option is on the roster for 2027! It gets you admission for one into each track, plus an event windshield banner and participant t-shirt, and at least one meal with us at the beginning or end of the event.

There’s also the popular Sick Spit Show & Shine upgrade option, with inside pit parking and eligibility for show awards.

A fifth and sixth Sick The Magazine event will be on the docket for 2027, and as soon as we get details nailed down, we will have them on the website; CLICK HERE for event listings!

“We’re giving you more options than ever for Sick The Mag events in 2027,” said Tom. “We’re covering more places, and hope you can join us for a day, or the entire event, and experience your own adventure with Sick the Magazine in 2027!”
