Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive 2026 is Almost Here – Early Testing is Sold Out; VIP Tech Has Limited Spots Remaining!
We can smell the burnt rubber and race fuel, visualize staging lanes full of cars, the grandstands packed with people, and the social media posts of people thrashing and making final preparations; it’s just about time for Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive!
For the fifth edition of Sick Week, we’ll start the festivities at a new host track: Gainesville Raceway. And thanks to the efforts of the Sick The Mag staff, the NHRA and the Gainesville Raceway staff, we will host two days of advance testing, as well as VIP Tech.
The 2026 edition of Gear Vendors Overdrive Sick Week, February 1st through 7th, is less than 10 days away!!! Don’t miss the chance to see over 300 competitors battling for a class win, while trying to survive over 900 street miles of driving through Florida and South Georgia! Every year, new drag and drive cars are being built, existing cars are being updated, and although some competitors will show on Day Zero without any testing, others want and have just enough time to get testing in. Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive was able to add two days of testing at host track Gainesville Raceway, and those testing spots have been SOLD OUT.
“Even if you don’t make big changes to your car, a couple extra runs can mean a lot to a competitor on getting their set-up dialed in for the event,” said Tom Bailey. “Some of the competitors haven’t raced in the weather conditions, or the track prep, that Sick Week offers. We listened, and offered addition test days in 2025, and once again, the people responded.”
Testing will be a bit different in 2026, as we’ve changed up things, and added in some bonuses! Testing is limited to 100 cars, will take place on Friday, January 30th from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., and then on Saturday, January 31st from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Testing will also include dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday to entrants, as well as early tech for Sick Week, so competitors roll into Sunday ready for the week!
If you want to come out and watch testing, tickets are available to spectators and crew for each day: CLICK HERE to purchase a ticket for Friday, January 30th or Saturday, January 31st!
Another popular feature will return for Sick Week as well – VIP Tech! Skip the line with hundreds of competitors, and get straight through tech inspection at a designated time. The VIP Tech experience was created as a joint effort between Sick the Magazine and Bubba’s Buddies – each spot is $100, and all of that money goes towards Bubba’s Buddies, a non-profit organization with the mission to cure Degenerative Myelopathy in dogs. Spots are very limited, CLICK HERE to purchase yours before they sell out!
