Two of the Quickest Naturally-Aspirated Drag and Drive Cars Are Up for Sale, Including the Current Record Holder!

After dominating the Naturally Aspirated classes at the 2023 edition of Sick Summer Presented by TBM Brakes, and then this year’s Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, we were not expecting to see 'Fast Eddie' Ensor's 1985 Mustang up for sale today.

The classified ad on Facebook lists a pair of Ensor’s Ford Mustangs, and Ensor will sell one of them, and the current drag and drive Naturally Aspirated class record holder is on the list.

If you missed out on Sick Summer, our next event - Sick Michigan Miles Presented by Driven Racing Oil, is coming - August 10-17th, 2025!! Although Ensor has been a participant as both a competitor and a co-pilot in drag and drive events for over a decade, he would first insert his name as a class winner at Hot Rod Drag Week 2021 with a victory in a Mustang some may not recognize.

Wheeling a red 1988 Mustang in the Super Street Naturally Aspirated class, Ensor used a best run of 8.39 and an average of 8.51 to score the win.

That red Mustang coupe, along with his record-holding blue ’85 Mustang coupe, went up for sale today, but with a twist.

“I’m only selling one,” said Ensor. “Whichever one sells first; they can take their pick.” He stated that a new car build is in the works, and has confirmed when he does bring out something new, it will be drag and drive ready, and naturally-aspirated.

The ad lists both cars as rolling with current 6-second SFI certifications, with a possible 632 cubic inch big block turn key option available as well.

Although the red ’88 Mustang has since gone over three-quarters of-a-second quicker than it did at Hot Rod Drag Week with a 7.60 pass in testing, Ensor’s blue Mustang currently holds the Naturally Aspirated world record in drag and drive.

Ensor posted a 7.53 average at Sick Summer 2023, along with a best single pass of 7.46 at 184 mph. Those would reset the record for Naturally Aspirated classes, and less than two years later, Ensor pushed the envelope further with a 7.078 at 194 mph best run leading to a 7.096 average at Sick Week Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive.

Both the 7.078 single run, as well as the 7.096 average, set the Naturally Aspirated class world records for the drag and drive community. Will someone take Ensor’s car to the 6-second range?
