“At drag-and-drive events, you’re not just saying you have a fast street car. You’re proving it!”

The replica ’69 Camaro was brought to life at RJ Race Cars, and the stretched front end houses a Pro Line Racing HEMI powerplant with a pair of Garrett GT57 turbochargers.

“I look to finish, hopefully on the podium. But the Super Street class will be a shark tank, so we'll see how it shakes out!”

The World Power Wheel Standing Championships not only rewards the longest wheel stand, but also awards payouts for the highest wheelie, the most photogenic wheelie, the most violent wheelie, and more.  

“The closest we have come to a drag-and-drive event was last year in Sick Ward. It was a great, fun experience and can’t wait to be on the other side of it!”

“I hope to make clean runs, break into the 11-second zone, and make the trip.”

“We look forward to meeting some amazing new people, and reconnect with friends we’ve made along the way.”

Despite its racy appearance, Steve Groenink states his first priority with the car is making sure it can be driven reliably. “If I can’t cruise the car regularly, then I don’t want it.”

“I hope to make a 4-second eighth-mile pass in Rowdy Radial,” said Rick of his Sick Week goals. “But I just like doing street car stuff with my friends.”

“I feel I may have been practicing for this type of event since I first started tinkering with cars. It presents a challenge and a sense of self reliance while also providing opportunity to help others and meet new people.”

“I thought we could do something in the western region and the mountain area. I wanted to get people back to the roots of why we started doing ‘drag-and-drive events.’”

1320 Video founder Kyle Loftis has been presented the chance to tell his story a few times before this video, but in his words “not in his depth, and with pictures and video to go with it.”

“My plan is finish the event and average faster than last year,” said Ridenour of his plans. I’ve been involved with drag-and-drive events since 2013, so I see other failures and try to avoid those.”

Once action got started on track, some competitors opened with easy “A to B” passes to officially complete Sick Week. Then, the gloves came off and the final battles got under way!

Bart is looking forward to Sick Week. “The event looks like it is very family oriented, and Sick Ward is really cool too.”

Brian planned to shave around 200 pounds of weight by swapping in lighter seats, battery, cables, driveshaft and fasteners.
