Sick Week 2023 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive is coming to Florida in just two weeks, and it won't just be the participants on the quarter-mile sharing in the excitement with the news that Summit Racing Equipment and PEAK Performance will be getting behind the Sick Ward.

The best pass in 2022 came from a heads-up race at US 131 Motorsports Park in Michigan in summer 2022, when Steve delivered a 6.53 at 229 mph with a 1.15 60 foot.

What is making Colin Gee make the long haul to Sick Week?  “The most well known drag and drive racers in a single event. The scenery, the tracks, and the weather for this part of the season. Especially coming from Canada.”

Sick Week will mark Tony’s first time behind the wheel as the racer instead of the co-pilot. “I actually don’t have a ton of drag racing experience, and very little with a stick car. So it’s a little daunting, but I’m really excited.”

“Running a drag-and-drive is the true challenge, both mental and physical. Lack of sleep, no huge crew to help, the guys around you. It all make it very appealing for us.”

Although some would think the Javelin had written its final chapter after crashing in 2021, Goldstone was able to strip and rebuild the storied car in time for the 2022 Hot Rod Drag Week.

The car will get some updates before Sick Week, but Doug Cook still plans to keep the overall look and feel of the car. “I love this car, and I’m really looking forward to spending a week with it.”

The LS-swap is becoming more commonplace every year, as is the Ford-based Coyote. But some still prefer the old school engines, and Bob Gruber bucks the engine swap trend with his clean 1994 Ford Mustang.

“I’m hoping to finish the week with minimal issues, and earn a podium finish,” said Scott Brown of his 2023 Sick Week aspirations.

“I’m shooting for 8.50s every day, and or finish with an 8.50s average. Finishing is ALWAYS the challenge. Anything can happen. For us, just getting to the event is a challenge.”

In Thursday testing, Eric Dillard cracked off a 5.412 at 267.96 mph, becoming the third-quickest driver in the history of door-car drag racing!

Audrea Beeler has already put several thousand miles on the El Camino, attending Rock Mountain Race Week, Race Week and Sick Week in 2022.

Chad Fegley, a two-time Stick Shift class winner at Rocky Mountain Race Week 2.0, will be making the trip from Nebraska with his potent 2010 Corvette Grand Sport.

Camron got his introduction to drag-and-drive events by watching Hot Rod Drag Week, and decided to join in the fun at Rock Mountain Race Week starting in 2015.

“I want to complete it,” said Carl Stancell about Sick Week. “We did not last year, and I have to (WILL) redeem myself.”

“A repeat of last year, winning the stick class would be great. But my main goal this year, like every year, is to make it back home after the event. It would be great to run mid 8-second passes all 5 days.”

Since Sick Week 2022, Corsilli has upgraded to a full roll cage in the pick-up, and added a parachute as well. The LS-based 402 cubic inch engine with a single turbocharger and a Holley Terminator X has also been tuned up for 2023, with a best pass of 8.95 at 153 mph.

“It’s a huge event that lasts a whole week and its local for me (in Florida). I love the community and atmosphere, and expecting it to be a ton of fun!”

By 2020, Aaron had mastered the 8.50-limit of the Limited Street class at Rocky Mountain Race Week 2.0, averaging an 8.51 to take his first drag-and-drive class victory.

Former Street Outlaws star Tina Pierce will be bringing her 200mph Chevy Nova to Florida for the first time to compete at Sick Week 2023 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive.
