After over 600 road miles, lots of track runs, some “weather” on the second day, and a ton of memories made, Sick Summer 2023 Presented by TBM Brakes returned to Cordova Dragway in Illinois to wrap up a great week in the Midwest!

Alaska Speed Week has begun, sending a couple of dozen brave racers around Alaska for the adventure of a lifetime.

With four days of corn fields, two-lane roads and trailer burnouts in the rear-view mirror, Sick Summer Presented by TBM Brakes returned to Cordova Dragway to crown class winners.

Considering the final checkpoint on day three was the Field of Dreams movie site, some competitors should have seen the curveball coming; Day four found class leads changing hands, consistent rides would struggle, and a few more rides would find the Did Not Finish list.

After a big day at Tri-State Raceway we made our way down to the Pleasant Creek lake, Hot Rods by Havlik and Motion Raceworks for the awesome End of The Road Party. The final day at Cordova Dragway is almost here, let’s do this thing!

Day three stopped at Great Lakes Dragaway, and the biggest crowd of the week was on hand to pack the grandstands.

After about two hours of racing on the track, Mother Nature decided to spoil the party with a rain shower that didn’t fully quit for over an hour.

A pair of big rain showers brought an earlier-than-anticipated end to racing at Byron Dragway on day two of Sick Summer Presented By TBM Brakes. But in the drag and drive world, that doesn’t mean things get easy on the racers.

Sick Summer Presented By TBM Brakes saw the party commence with six-second fanfare as competition began in earnest for the latest event to hit the drag and drive scene.

The inaugural Sick Summer Presented by TBM Brakes got underway on Sunday, June 4th at Cordova Dragway in Illinois, with tech inspection and an afternoon test and tune session.

Saturday June 3rd in Michigan, the thrash to prepare a pair of 1957 Chevrolet station wagons to participate in Sick Summer is ongoing. Time is ticking away….

TVC’s Ralph Mabrier will be doing the majority of prep during Sick Summer, and Thomas Bemis of TVC will be joining him for two of the five days. “Participants should know that the level of prep we did at Sick Week, will be present at Sick Summer.”

To make the cruise just a little more fun, Jared Holt engineered in specific fun stops, food trucks and even designated burnout areas, all while receiving help from the small towns they visited, and lots of spectators coming out to watch it all.

Hot on the heels of the launch of Sick Powerfest Presented By M1 Concourse comes the announcement that Summit Racing Equipment will be joining the party as the naming rights partner for the event.

The lyrics to the song ‘Bad Bad Leroy Brown’ include “the baddest man in the whole damn town” and Randy Fuller is coming with a big big block Chevrolet engine with 2 stages of nitrous on top to back up that truck’s name!
