While riding in the family car with his father, an 11-year-old Alan Whitaker sees a first generation (1970-1972) Chevrolet Monte Carlo. He asks his dad “what kind of car is that?” Once he got the Monte Carlo answer, Alan never got it out of his head. “At that point, I knew I’d own one.
