Sean has a new game plan for the 2024 edition of Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks, and it’s a Trans Am that he has a good bit of history with.

Despite a good number of drag tracks closing down in 2023, the racing community has seen some rays of light as new tracks are constructed, or tracks that have not been in operation for a while are getting a second chance to showcase the sport again.

“Sick Summer 2023 was an epic event; it is the coolest event from a fan perspective that I’ve ever been to. The amount of support we got from fans on the side of the road holding signs, to the fans support at the tracks.”

Despite the change to refine the Corvette, Stefan has an even bigger plan in the works: A carbon fiber-bodied 1970 Camaro for the 2025 drag-and-drive season.

“It is an identical car to my high school car, down to the year and gray interior, which is less common in those cars.”

Mike Verdolotti has owned this fourth-generation F-body since age 17, and it will be his weapon of choice for his first drag-and-drive event: the 2024 edition of Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive.

“The new C7 Corvette will require a bunch of passes before we put it in any competition. So, we decided to run the ’66 Corvette in Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive for 2024.

While small tire racing has made some serious strides in drag racing as a whole, the drag-and-drive community raised the small tire bar to a whole new level in 2023.
