All New ‘Sick Sevens’ 7.50-Second Class Shapes Up for Speedfest Event at Beech Bend Raceway Park May 28-30th, 2026 – Who Will Take Home the Coveted Sick The Mag Orange Helmet and $5,000?

The fields are starting to shape for the inaugural Speedfest, taking place May 28th through the 30th, 2026 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This unique event combines the class structures of Sick The Magazine, Street Car Takeover and Braggin Rights together for the first time.

One of the three Sick The Magazine classes on the quarter-mile format is the new Sick Sevens class (7.50 index). The number of cars built with a 7.50-second limited 25.5 SFI chassis / roll cage, as well as those that are close to that performance level, are getting a shot with this new class.

300 of America’s best street cars, a TOP FUEL dragster, JET CARS, and a laser light show are just some of the reasons YOU should be at Speedfest at Beech Bend Raceway in Kentucky, May 28-30th, 2026! Braggin Rights and Street Car Takeover join Sick The Mag for this unique event, and you won’t want to miss a minute of the action! “We have gotten requests for a 7.50-second limited class, and since this would be a natural step-up from the 8.50-second cage limited classes, we’re giving those competitors their shot in our new ‘Sick Sevens’ class,” said Tom Bailey of Sick The Magazine. “The competitors that entered should make for a good showcase of the class.”

Leading the Sick Sevens entrant list is two-time Sick The Mag event winner Jason Rousseau. The Death Week and Sick 66 2024 event winner was restricted to 8.50-second e.t.s due to his previous roll cage. But in his latest round of upgrades since we last saw him, the Malibu should be a tough competitor.

Another past Sick The Mag event winner, Timothy Blythe and his familiar ’64 Triumph, will be competing. The twin-turbo LS has collected a bunch of mid to low 7-second time slips, with his personal-best 7.31 average from this year’s Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive. With the change from the cool winter air to late spring conditions, Blythe could be right on that 7.50 number in Kentucky.

Another former Sick The Mag event winner with plenty of power for the Sick Sevens class is the brother combo of David and Nick Diehl. The 2001 Ford Mustang has undergone a bunch of changes in the last year and a half, and the show-quality ride will have Nick trying to hit a number on the tune up while David pilots the twin-turbo LS Steve Morris engine.
