Could a Sick The Mag Collaboration Event Be in the Works for 2026, and What Classes Could Be on the Docket?

Not long after Sick The Magazine started with our print edition magazine, the first Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive event was held in early 2022. Designed around the popular week-long, five-day format with four race tracks, it was an immediate hit.

But in the last couple years, the drag and drive community has seen an increase in the two-to-four day event format. This has spurred numerous conversations about Sick The Mag doing a weekend-style drag and drive event, as well as an event in combination with other organizations.

“We understand that not everyone can take a full week to participate in an event,” said Tom Bailey. “Talking to competitors at Sick On The Green, as well as other events we’ve participated in, has sparked ideas on a possible event idea for the future.”

To expand on the event idea, the suggestion of combining together more than one organization to highlight three to four classes from each, resulting in a more diverse and fun event. So, if we were limited to 100 cars, what would be the best classes for Sick The Mag to showcase on the quarter-mile in the event?

Unlimited / Unlimited Iron? 8.50 Street Race? Gassers? Dial Your Own? Stick Shift?

Or, should we consider a new class, like a 7.50-Second class, based around a Super Street or a Street Race rule set?

“With how popular drag and drive events are, the idea of bringing together a couple different organizations and classes, with a smaller amount of drag and drive cars, for one event, is a whole different deal,” said Bailey. “I’m excited about the chance to showcase the drag and drive community in a different way.”

What is your opinion on the drag and drive classes we should feature?
