Felicia Smith and Her 8-Second Cadillac Uses Drag-and-Drive Experience to Connect with High School Auto Tech Students - Class will Attend the Circuit Event

We’ve reported several times about the connection and memories that cars, racing, and the drag-and-drive community can create.

For Felicia Smith, that connection goes a little deeper, and now she’s been able to pay it forward for a group of high school automotive tech students.

Felicia has become well known for her 2009 Cadillac CTS-V sedan, better known as ‘4 Door Rocket.’ The supercharged orange missile cracked off 8.68 at 157 mph during the recent Cadillac Attack event at Orlando Speed World Dragway just before Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, and Felicia can trace some of her racing and automotive addiction to high school.

It was during this time in her life that she attended an automotive tech class as part of her studies. “My instructor Adam Nunn and I have kept in contact, and I actually took Rocket and spoke to his class a couple years ago,” said Felicia.

This year’s edition of the Circuit drag-and-drive event starts at Mo-Kan Dragway, not far from CTEC school in Pittsburgh, Kansas (where Adam now teaches). Adam wanted to make a difference, and bring his current automotive tech students to experience a day of a drag-and-drive at Mo-Kan!

But to be able to fund the trip required some help, so Felicia reached out over social media for help. Just over twelve hours later, all costs to send the 24 students to the track for the first day had been covered by an anonymous donor.

The future of racing, as well as drag-and-drive, appears to be in good hands.
