Although the popular Street Race / Limited Street classes were not originally designed to be index-limited classes, the competition pushing performances to the edge of the 8.50-second roll cage limits has made them into some of the toughest classes to compete in.

It’s not unheard of to see car counts north of 30-50 competitors, and twice in Hot Rod Drag Week event history, a competitor has clocked all 8.50-second runs during the week. And although Eric Burroughs and his Monte Carlo are not strangers to the Sick Summer event, 2026 will mark the first time he’ll dive into the thick of the Street Race class competition at a Sick The Mag event.

At Sick The Magazine, we’ve given away some pretty epic rides! Eight different cars and trucks have gone to new homes, and we’ve even seen them at our events with the new owners enjoying them! But our ninth giveaway car could be the most epic – this drag and drive ready ’65 Pontiac GTO - and it has a brand-new owner!

After taking possession of the GTO, Tom Bailey of Sick The Mag said his mission was to give it away as a drag and drive proven 10-second ride. “When I saw this GTO online, it spoke to me,” said Tom. “And we are going to iron it out, so the winner will get a cool ride, ready for street driving and drag strip action.”

Recently, Tom Bailey and the Sick The Magazine crew introduced our ninth and latest vehicle giveaway, a 1965 Pontiac GTO. This car was built to be used on the street and the track, and we’ve tested and refined it for a new owner, which could be YOU! But the giveaway ends on June 28th at 11:59 PM!

After participating in the first Sick Summer as a co-pilot, Jim Shipley returned to Sick Summer in 2024 for a competitor spot. Wheeling a unique 1988 Ford LTD Country Squire station wagon, would Shipley survive the week?

“I’ve never run a seven-second pass, and if I can get one, I’ll leave a happy man.” Considering Kyle Williams finished second in the small tire class at the 2023 Miles of Mayhem event, TX2K would give him a solid chance for that 7-second blast.

Felicia Smith has become well known for her 2009 Cadillac CTS-V sedan, better known as ‘4 Door Rocket,’ and Felicia can trace some of her racing and automotive addiction to high school, where she attended an automotive tech class as part of her studies.
