Gear Vendors Overdrive Brings Experience to the PRI Show, and Hopes to Use That for Sick Kart Kaos As Well

The Performance and Racing Industry (PRI) Show brings a large contingent of racing and performance enthusiasts together for a trio of days to see the latest and greatest parts and services in Indianapolis up close.

Sick Kart Kaos uses that same recipe to bring racing and performance enthusiasts together, but with helmets and karts instead, as we’ll invade Fastimes Indoor Karting on December 11th for the fastest party in Indianapolis.

Starting with eight teams, made up of Sick The Magazine's group of great partners, will battle on the track, and one of them will be Gear Vendors Overdrive.

The official publication of drag and drive - Sick the Magazine! 212 pages are packed into each double-issue, which include features, event coverage, guest columns and a TON of photos! Rick Johnson, who has spearheaded the efforts of Gear Vendors Overdrive for north of two decades, has also been a major part of the drag and drive community since the early years of Hot Rod Drag Week.

A Gear Vendors Overdrive has been aboard the first drag and drive car with a 7-second average in 2007, the Danny Terzich and Steve Roth ’67 Chevrolet Camaro. A Gear Vendors was on the week with Tom Bailey when he became the first with a 6-second average in 2013 with the original ‘Sick Seconds’ 1969 Camaro.

“As more and more big horsepower cars came into Hot Rod Drag Week, some found out that surviving on the street was harder than they thought,” said Johnson. “Having people like Terzich and Roth showing that the unit worked made a huge difference for us.”

As the horsepower numbers have continued to increase, and elapsed times decreased, Gear Vendors Overdrive has stayed with it to develop stronger products. They will have these on display at the PRI Show, and Johnson also continues to be a big part of Sick The Mag.

Johnson will provide home base for the Sick The Magazine crew, and our well-known Sick BBQ / Ice Cream truck at booth 3173, and will join us as a team captain at Sick Kart Kaos. Although Johnson didn’t specifically outline his approach, his determination and performance goals should be on display during the Thursday night gathering at Fastimes Indoor Karting.
