Middle Georgia Sports Park Eighth-Mile Drag Strip in Jeffersonville, Georgia Goes Up for Sale

With over four decades since it first opened its gates, Middle Georgia Sports Park (also known as Twiggs County Raceway, Macon National Dragway and Middle Georgia Motorsports Park) has been home to a lot of racing action, as well as an uncertain future at times.

The track recently acquired NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) sanctioning on January 16th, 2026, and current owners Trent and Jessica Mallard put the Jeffersonville, Georgia track up for sale on Thursday, July 16th, 2026.

Although we were unable to find an exact date, the eighth-mile track first is rumored to have opened in 1970s as Twiggs County Raceway, changed names to Macon National Dragway, and later had signage listing it as Twiggs / Macon National Dragway.

Conflicting reports have the track closing sometime between 2011 and 2015, but after being purchased and some improvements done, including moving the tower from the right side of the track to the left side, the drag strip was opened as Middle Georgia Motorsports Park on April 9, 2016.

The track continued to operate under the Middle Georgia Motorsports Park name until January, 2023, when the name was changed to Middle Georgia Sports Park.

The following was posted on the track’s Facebook page on the evening of Thursday, July 16th:

‍“After many prayers, conversations, and careful consideration, we have made one of the hardest decisions of our lives. Middle Georgia Sports Park is officially being offered for sale.

This track has been so much more than a business to us. It has been our passion, our home away from home, and a place where we’ve built countless friendships and memories with racers, families, and fans. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us, raced with us, sponsored events, and helped make this track what it is today.”

“The only reason we have made this decision is because we have been presented with an exciting new business opportunity that we feel is the right next step for our family. While it is bittersweet to let go of something we have poured our hearts into, we are excited for what the future holds.

We truly hope to find someone who shares the same passion for drag racing and will continue building on everything that makes Middle Georgia Sports Park special.

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a drag strip and becoming part of an amazing racing community, this could be your opportunity.”

“For more information or to discuss the sale, please send me a private message.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. No matter what happens next, we will always be thankful to have been a part of the Middle Georgia Sports Park family.”

The track is listed for $3 million dollars, and not only includes the track, but also track equipment, over 25,000 square feet of renovated buildings, as a turn-key operation. ‍
