Recapping The PRI Show with Sick The Magazine – We Expand Our 2026 Season Plans with a Pair of Collaboration Events, Reveal Sick 66 Event Tracks, Partner with Sick Prep, and Host 4th Annual Kart Kaos
It was a little over four years ago that Sick The Magazine was introduced in print, and in December 2021, the Performance and Racing Industry (PRI) Show was not only exposed to Sick The Magazine for the first time, but also the hype of the first Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive.
Since then, the drag and drive community, and the event calendar, has exploded. For the 2025 season, Sick The Magazine team also expanded to host more events than ever before, and at the recent PRI Show, Sick The Mag has ramped things up for the 2026 season.
The official publication of drag and drive - Sick the Magazine! 212 pages are packed into each double-issue, which include features, event coverage, guest columns and a TON of photos! Get the official magazine of drag-and-drive: CLICK HERE to subscribe to Sick The Magazine!
It started on Thursday, December 11th, as Mickey Thompson announced their first venture into events, with the ‘Turn and Burn’ scheduled for May 5th through the 9th at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
Mickey Thompson will combine a limited test session for tires, incorporating their popular ‘try and buy’ program for two days, with select racing classes. Sick The Magazine will collaborate on a ‘drag and drive’ element; more details will be released in January 2026.
Less than two hours after the Mickey Thompson announcement, we joined Thomas Bemis for the announcement of Sick Prep, a new track service that includes surface prep, management, staffing, and safety. Joined in the new venture by Weston Nichols and Gavin Carter, the team should be a solid force in racing for 2026.
The second event announcement of the day involving Sick The Magazine came just before lunch, as Tom Bailey announced Sick The Mag would be joining event promoters Street Car Takeover and Bragging Rights to form a unique event, Speedfest, to be held at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky on the final week of May 2026. We’d cap the first day of the PRI Show with the fourth annual Sick Kart Kaos at Fastimes Indoor Karting Thursday night December 11th. The largest gathering in the history event saw the Sick team emerge victorious for the first time, with the Peak Performance team second and XS Power Batteries in third.
Friday would bring the Sick The Mag team back to the Gear Vendors Overdrive booth for our third event announcement in two days, Sick 66 for 2026. Tom Bailey revealed that the event would start at Mo-Kan Dragway, before traveling the historic highway to visit Bonne Terre Drag Strip and Midstate Dragway.
