Jeff Lutz Gears Up for Sick Week with Goals of 5-Second Runs and Completing the Week in What Could Be One of His Final Drag and Drive Events
After a decade plus of racing multiple venues, including the popular Street Outlaws and No Prep Kings series, Jeff Lutz took an opportunity to get back to another chapter of street cars in his life in 2024, participating in his first drag and drive event in seven years at Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive.
In the two years since that return to first drag and drive, the iconic ’69 Camaro known as ‘Mad Max’ has lived up to its name, returning some solid runs, but also leaving Jeff frustrated at times.
As before, he finds himself busy with plenty of work and projects, but ready to start the season at Sick Week, with some goals to accomplish, in what could be his final ride.
Third Time’s the Charm – Nick Cryer Dominates Edelbrock Sick Smokies with a Trio of Personal Best Runs, the Overall Victory, and a Sick The Mag Orange Helmet!

Nick’s drag and drive debut came up a single day short of completion, but Nick would rebound at his next two drag and drive events, Hot Rod Drag Week and Edelbrock Sick Smokies. And we got a glimpse at what the ’33 Ford could deliver for performances in 2026.
The Deuce Box Dominates – Aydan Bailey Uses Consistency and Fine Tuning to Earn First Drag and Drive Event Win at Sick Michigan Miles Presented by Driven Racing Oil!
A lot of the drag and drive community knows about Tom Bailey and his accomplishments in both the original ‘Sick Seconds’ ’69 Camaro, as well as the upgraded ’69 Camaro known as ‘Sick Seconds 2.0.’
But Tom’s son Aydan has been slowly ironing out his own ride, a 1957 Chevrolet station wagon that has competed in a handful of events since its debut at Sick Summer 2023. Just over two years after that first event, Aydan scored his first overall victory at the recent Sick Michigan Miles Presented by Driven Racing Oil.
To fully understand the success of Aydan’s recent win in Michigan, let’s take a trip back to the first Sick The Mag drag and drive event, Sick Week 2022 Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive.
