Following a successful Sick Skids at M1 Concourse in 2022, Tom Bailey and crew joined forces with the M1 Concourse staff to create Summit Sick Powerfest Presented by M1 Concourse, held Friday, August 11th, 2023.

What started as a private party to raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan, has now become an overload for the senses - Summit Sick Powerfest Presented by M1 Concourse - and it happens TODAY, August 11th, 2023!

“After seeing Cleetus McFarland have his first burnout competition, and always enjoying watching the Aussies and their burnout competitions, we decided to give it a try.”

“We went through all the cars most people were using for burnouts, and no one was using a Mopar. I picked the biggest cars we had, including a 1968 Plymouth Road Runner we named Linda, for our burnout cars.”

Paul Brown also owns the recreation of Doug Thorley’s “Chevy 2 Much” 1964 Chevy Nova A/FX altered wheelbase car. After acquiring and showing that car for some time, the subject of recreating Doug Thorley’s funny car came up.

When a BMW 4-door gutted shell was bound for the junkyard in late 2018, Carl Balzar stepped in to buy his newest project for 400 hundred dollars. Nearly 5 years later, that shell is entering drifting and the burnout competition at Summit Sick Powerfest Presented by M1 Concourse.

Just in case you thought last year’s burnout contest winner Patrick Corcoran was resting on his laurels…. “I know they got some big guns coming this year, but I’m going to get out there and put on a damn show.”

There is nothing like the sight, sound and smell of a nitro-burning supercharged engine. Combine that experience with a front-engine dragster with a cool look and a lot of history, and it’s something you have to see to appreciate at Summit Sick Powerfest!
