With the spring date in the books, competitors and enthusiasts alike returned to Shadyside Dragway in Shelby, North Carolina to kick start the fall edition of Southeast Street-N-Yeet.

After a 2023 season that started with setting the standard for a 235 tire in route to winning the Rowdy Radial title at Sick Week, and included two more wins at Sick Summer and Hot Rod Drag Week, Devin Vanderhoof is changing the game up.

“He was my best bud and co-pilot for the last ten years. When I found out he was sick, I couldn’t just not do anything. We needed to make a difference.”

“I bought the car back in April of 2021, after it literally sat for 11 years untouched in a garage since I sold it. I decided to finish what we started back in 2010 when I sold the car.”

7 months after the spring version of Southeast Street-N-Yeet wrapped up at Shadyside Dragway, the Carolina-based drag-and-drive returns to Shadyside to kick start the fall edition of Southeast Street-N-Yeet Presented by Motion Raceworks.

“It was an amazing result to those nine days,” Brock said during the Skull ceremony about Death Week. “No crackheads asked me for money, so that’s always a plus.”

For Jason Rousseau, he made the lengthy 2500-mile trip from New York to Chandler, Arizona for Death Week. “I knew it was a one-time-only event, and I wanted to be a part of that.”

With just one drag-and-drive event left to run in the 2023 season, some enthusiasts are looking to not only Southeast Street-N-Yeet next week, but other big events, to get in their last licks of the year.

“It’s all about the adventure, according to Tom Bailey. So, we made the most of it.”

“Death Week was a great adventure with friends and family getting to see the south west coast. I keep telling people if they have never done a drag-and-drive, to make sure they sign up for Sick 66 next year and bring whatever they have to enjoy the adventure.”
