Sick The Mag Brings Their Own ‘Great 8’ To The AutoRama – One of America’s Largest Indoor Car Shows, Starting Today in Detroit, Michigan
For over seven decades, the Detroit AutoRama in Michigan has showcased tens of thousands of amazing rides, including hot rods, muscle cars, truck and motorcycles. It is a true plethora of automotive gatherings, with one of the big attractions of the AutoRama being The Ridler Award,
The drag and drive community has enjoyed a presence at the event in recent years, with Sick The Magazine bringing an ‘8-pack’ of cool and quick rides to our display at the AutoRama.
Sick the Magazine is READY for a solid 2026, as we will host FIVE events, four of them as a major week-long drag and drive event! Make plans to join us at one (or more) of our events: Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, Motion Raceworks Sick Summer, Sick Michigan Miles presented by Driven Racing Oil, Edelbrock Sick 66, and Speedfest. “The Detroit Autorama is one of the best shows I’ve been to every year,” said Tom Bailey. “We’ve been able to enjoy as enthusiasts for several years, and we always felt that showcasing a good number of drag and drive rides should be as part of the deal. So, we will feature some of those great rides in our Sick The Magazine this year.”
The center of the display will be Sick The Magazine’s International ‘Chode’ truck and our familiar orange merchandise trailer, where our full line-up of items will be available. This includes the highly desirable and ‘only available at events’ Sick The Mag straw hats!
Part of the display will also include our current giveaway vehicle, a clean and rare 1991 GMC Syclone. One of less than 3,000 produced, the turbocharged all-wheel-drive come fresh from completing our Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive event, and any purchase of $1 or more from the Sick The Mag merchandise trailer, or on the Sick The Mag merch site by CLICKING HERE, gets you an entry!
Flanking the opposite side of the Sick The Magazine trailer is Nick Cryer and his ’33 Ford Coupe, which won our Edelbrock Sick Smokies event in October 2025, and recently completed Sick Week with a personal best 7.28 average on the quarter-mile.
Across from Sick The Mag’s merchandise trailer lies a six pack of drag and drive rides, covering the spectrum from 6-second rides to the cool old school ‘Gasser’ and roadster vibes!
The line up starts with the ’81 Pontiac LeMans station wagon of Big 3 Racing’s Chuck Stefanski. But this is far from a ho-hum wagon, packing a ProCharger-boosted big block, zoomie headers, and room for four in an established ride.
Next to Stefanski lies the cool Gasser Ford truck of Michael Heston from the ‘Bucket List Mob.’ Heston has also done multiple drag and drive events with Sick The Mag, and packs all the right Gasser features, from the nose high stance to the yellow-tinted hood scoop!
Continuing the cool and unique rides is Vinnie Barbone’s Geo Tracker. Known as Samsquanch, the Tracker appeared at our first Sick Week with a blown small block, and will display with its new twin turbo combination, with the turbos in the back!
Next to the 8-second Geo is another Sick Week-proven 8-second drag and drive ride, JoAnna Iacobelli Reid’s 2018 Ford Mustang! In a fresh shade of Fushsia, this supercharged Coyote-powered ride is signed up to do battle in our Sick Michigan Miles event in August this year!
Next is the fire-breathing 1923 Ford ‘T-Bucket’ roadster of Zach Blausey. The ‘Twisted T’ roadster combines all old school and modern flavors, with a supercharged LS between the frame rails, but keeping a pair of zoomie headers for the noise and fire shot vibes on the Sick Smokies finishing ride!
Nick and David Diehl’s record-holding 2001 Ford Mustang completes the line-up of Sick The Mag’s drag and drive line up, and the LS-swapped Mustang is more than just a beautiful shade of orange. The first car to break the 6-second barrier in the Super Street class at last year’s Motion Raceworks Sick Summer event, the Diehls get this pony lots of exercise each year, at everything from drag and drive events, to no-prep and small tire heads-up racing.
The Detroit AutoRama starts today, Friday February 27th, 2026, and runs through Sunday, March 1st, 2026. For more information on the event, CLICK HERE!
