Sick The Mag’s DYO Class Features Sick The Mag Event Champions, Street Car Takeover and Drag Week Winners Amongest the Competitors for Speedfest Event at Beech Bend Raceway Park May 28-30th, 2026!
The inaugural Speedfest event, May 28th through the 30th, 2026 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky, combines the class structures of Sick The Magazine, Street Car Takeover and Braggin Rights together for the first time.
One of the three Sick The Magazine classes on the quarter-mile format, and one of the most popular, is the Dial Your Own (DYO) class. Giving every level of performance, whether stock of modified, modern or classic, is what has made this class a success at Sick The Magazine events since we held the first Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive in 2022.
America’s best street cars, a TOP FUEL dragster, JET CARS, and a laser light show are just some of the reasons YOU should be at Speedfest at Beech Bend Raceway in Kentucky, May 28-30th, 2026! Braggin Rights and Street Car Takeover join Sick The Mag for this unique event, and you won’t want to miss a minute of the action! The class structure is based on consistency, all based on what a competitor and their vehicle can do over the length of the event. “We’ve seen everything from daily drivers, to converted bracket cars, to weekend fun cars succeed at the DYO class,” said Tom Bailey of Sick The Magazine. “The competition always brings great stories, and anyone can emerge with the win.”
The basis of the class is this: when you turn in your first time slip, you’ve established the baseline. However quicker and/or slower your future time slips are from the established baseline e.t., determines your ‘spread’ or ‘variance’ over the course of the event. The tighter or smaller the spread gives us the class leaders, and ultimately a winner.
With $5000 on the line for the top five finishers (smallest spreads), and a Sick The Mag orange helmet to the winner, a solid list of competitors is ready to battle it out for the title at Speedfest.
Coming in fresh off a win at Back To The Streets is David Lipps. The driver of the purple Dodge Charger Hellcat has competed at several drag and drive events, and after already competing at The Circuit and Back To The Streets in 2026, he’ll compete at Speedfest before returning to Sick Summer presented by Motion Raceworks next month.
Chad Beech, who you may have seen in Sick Michigan Miles and Mickey Thompson Turn & Burn events, will roll from Ohio south in his 2013 Cadillac CTS-V.
This year’s DYO class winner from Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, Jonathan Montesino will make the drive from South Florida with fellow Lujan Motorsports and Sick Week winner Gaby Lujan. Can either of the Mustang drivers collect a second Sick The Mag helmet?
Former Street Car Takeover winner Kyle Eubanks will wheel his 2020 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 west from Tennessee, looking to add another trophy to his stash.
Multi-time Sick event participant Yvonnda Hutchins will be in attendance, but inside of her Sick At The Rock winning multi-colored Chevy SS sedan, Hutchins will be pressing her Plan B ride, a white SS sedan, into service.
Speedfest is the first event of its kind, as Sick The Mag, Braggin Rights and Street Car Takeover combine together at Beech Bend Raceway Park for a three-day event like no other. 300 competitors will tackle the Kentucky track, and competitor spots are going fast!
We also have spectator tickets, as well as VIP packages, now available. Don't miss your chances to witness it all – May 28th through the 30th, 2026. CLICK HERE to visit the Speedfest event page!
