The Circuit – A Charity With Horsepower Event Braves the Weather to Determine Class Winners and Raise Over $15,000 in Donations for Youth Services of Tulsa!
After Mother Nature delayed the original date of The Circuit – A Charity With Horsepower from April to June, the weather gods decided they weren’t quite done with the event.
But with 165 vehicles in attendance, plenty of racing and street driving was still accomplished, as well as thousands of dollars of donations for a Tulsa, Oklahoma children’s charity.

“Since its inception, The Circuit has been a weekend focused on family fun, racing camaraderie, and charitable giving,” said Michael Narx of The Circuit. “This year’s event significantly benefited Youth Services of Tulsa, a crucial local organization providing over 20 life-skills and support programs for young adults aged 14–22.”
Friday was slated to be the first day of competition at Tulsa Raceway Park, but weather instead forced competitors to the drive portion of the day, visiting two checkpoints and an evening block party in Galena, Kansas.
Day two, Saturday June 28th, was due to see racing action at Mo-Kan Dragway, but rain would once again come into the picture. Narx left the choice to each class on waiting out the rain to split their time slips between days two and three, or hitting the road and having the final day count for all time slips.
Saturday’s drive had a trio of checkpoints, leading to a racer party with bowling, arcade games, and food to prepare enthusiasts for the final day, June 29th.
Back at Tulsa Raceway Park for Sunday, the final day of competition, Mother Nature finally eased up to allow for a full day of racing action, showing the potential of the cars and allowing the organizers to determine winners of the classes.
Brian Acton leads the winners list, as the Nova driver captured his third Street Racer Power Adder class win.
On the list of quarter-mile classes, the closest competition came in the You VS You class, also the largest class at 57 cars. Tom Taylor produced two time slips that matched to the thousandth of-a-second for the win. Beau Denny won the 12.00 Index class, while Jan Hase topped all in the 11.00 Index class.
The All Motor Small Block class had CJ Phillips at the top of the sheet, while on the All Motor Big Block side, David Miller scored the victory. Troy Meek captured the Gasser – Hot Rod class, Phil Balmaceda shifted better than the rest for the Quick Stick class win, and Chuck Knecht won the Motorcycle class accolades.
On the eighth-mile track standard, Jim Parkinson scored the Unlimited class win, John Ketch was the best in Small Tire, and Heavyweight went to Chris Padgett. Scott Barker earned the win in 6.68 Index, and a pair of Shootouts found Jeff Mass the winner in 6.68 Index Shootout, while David Bell was tops in Tailgate Shootout.
