Brett LaSala Clocks 3.88 at 195 MPH Pass in Route to First Victory in Limited Drag Radial Class at Yellowbullet Nationals in Snot Rocket 3.0
When Brett LaSala revealed his new Mustang build from Moore Race Chassis, Snot Rocket 3.0, about a year ago, one of the talking points was the ability to take the new car further than Snot Rocket 2.0, which was sold just a month earlier.
In expanding on that outlook, LaSala discussed the ability to run the car in drag and drive events, as well as 28-inch tire classes at FL2K and World Cup events. This year, LaSala also added the Limited Drag Radial heads-up class to his roster, and on his third event appearance in the class, LaSala scored a win!

After clocking some 3.90s in testing last year, and opening his 2025 season with a best of 6.07 at 236 mph at Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, LaSala made the change as he normally does for heads-up competition for the remainder of the year.
He made the tow from Florida to Texas for the longstanding TX2K event, and after overcoming issues including a damaged piston, became the first champion in their new 2JZ Versus The World class.
Less than two weeks later, LaSala surprised a lot of people by showing up to Rockingham Dragway for the Radial Outlaws Racing Series Battle For The Thrones event.
This race marked LaSala’s first time running the eighth-mile Limited Drag Radial class, and although Snot Rocket 3.0 slotted straight into it, in drag and drive trim, with no changes necessary, they still made a change to “eighth-mile gearing” in LaSala’s words.
In the cool March air, LaSala delivered a best run of 3.94 at 186 mph, but was out of competition early due to a broken exhaust rocker/follower.
Just over a month later, LaSala made the trip to Alabama for the Bama Outlaws event at Alabama International Dragway. He qualified with a 4.02 at 186 mph blast, and lost a close race to eventual winner Kenny Hubbard in round two, 3.91 at 187 mph to LaSala’s 3.98 at 189 mph.
A staple event of Labor Day weekend, the Yellowbullet Nationals at Cecil County Dragway, would be LaSala’s next shot at the Limited Drag Radial class. With fellow drag and drive runners Blayne Stark and Tanner Stover helping out on the crew, LaSala made the trip to the top of the sheet, with a 3.95 at 193.68 mph time slip earning him the number one qualifying spot.
LaSala opened eliminations Saturday with a single run when his opponent Brendon Mills encountered problems, and he clicked it off early for a 4.07 at 167 mph pass. LaSala clocked a 3.92 at 195 mph in winning the second round over the 4.11 run from Michael Gross and his Malibu.
LaSala and tuner Job Spetter turned the wick up on Snot Rocket, and the Precision Turbo & Engine turbos delivered all the boost for an insane 3.88 at 195 mph blast in the semifinal round to dispatch fellow Mustang racer Dom DiDonato, earning a new personal best eighth-mile time for LaSala as well.
That earned LaSala a spot in his first Limited Drag Radial class final, opposite Dale Arnold’s 2018 Dodge Demon. LaSala proved third time in the class was the charm, as he got the victory over Arnold when the Demon started leaking after the burnout, giving LaSala a single to the title.
“The final rounds were the first time in competition that we ran in warmer temperatures,” said LaSala. “Track temperatures were only 110 degrees, but we wanted to make good runs and close this deal.”
“It was the long-term goal to be able to do these things,” LaSala said about heads-up competition in addition to drag and drive. “I think the engine program is a little ahead of where I thought we would be. I’m extremely happy with the car.”
LaSala now has a packed final quarter of the 2025 season, with FL2K at Bradenton Motorsports Park and No Mercy at South Georgia Motorsports Park in October. November will find LaSala rolling north to defend his title at World Cup Finals at Maryland International Raceway, then wrapping the season at the Snowbird Nationals at Bradenton Motorsports Park.
