The Next Level – Drag and Drive’s Winningest Driver Bryant Goldstone Takes Aim On a 5-Second Average at Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive

Bryant Goldstone has accomplished a lot over fifteen years in drag and drive event competition. From scoring his first victory at the 2012 edition of Hot Rod Drag Week with a ProCharger-boosted small tire 1970 Chevelle, to owning the Unlimited Iron class on both Hot Rod Drag Week and Sick The Mag events, Goldstone is a force wherever he chooses to compete.

Just over a year ago, we got the first glimpse of the next step for Goldstone, a former Pro Mod ’53 Chevrolet Corvette that Goldstone debuted at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show in December 2024. Will 2026 be the year where Goldstone adds to his winning ways in this new ride, and can he make history at next week’s Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive?

Sick the Magazine is READY for a solid 2026, as we will host FIVE events, four of them as a major week-long drag and drive event! Make plans to join us at one (or more) of our events: Gear Vendors Overdrive Sick Week, Motion Raceworks Sick Summer, Driven Racing Oil Sick Michigan Miles, Edelbrock Sick 66, and Speedfest. In a little more than a decade, Goldstone’s well known 1973 AMC Javelin would rack several victories, on multiple fronts. He is also the only overall champion the Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks event has seen, scoring class and overall wins in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Goldstone won back-to-back Rocky Mountain Race Week event victories in 2024 and 2025, including his double at the 2025 MEGAWEEK.

He scored victory in the Unlimited Iron class at Hot Rod Drag Week on three of his first four appearances: 2015, 2016, and 2018.

But while Goldstone was enjoying a winning 2024 season, the Corvette was getting worked on under wraps. Brian Robbins put together a SMX-based twin turbo combination, and was wired and plumbed at fellow drag and drive runner Devin Vanderhoof’s HCR Innovations in South Carolina.

Last September, Goldstone rolled the Corvette into competition for the first time at Hot Rod Drag Week. While it wasn’t what many might have hoped for results, Goldstone took a car with limited test time to the second spot in the Unlimited class, second overall, and picked up another Gear Vendors guitar.

The Corvette made a best pass of 6.27 at 235 mph during Hot Rod Drag Week. Less than a week later in testing, the Corvette blasted to a 5.94 at 242.98 mph.

“I built this car before they had Unlimited cars, just to beat (Larry) Larsen,” said Goldstone after winning Hot Rod Drag Week in 2024. He expanded on that statement in 2025.

“I’m coming for Tom Bailey,” Goldstone admitted. “To be the best, you’ve got to beat the best. 2025 might not be the best year, with trying to get a new car sorted out. But I’m excited about the challenge.”

Today, Goldstone is at Bradenton Motorsports Park for more testing; will we hear of more 5-second runs by days’ end as he takes aim on new records?

Don’t miss the record-setting action at the ‘Super Bowl’ for drag and drive events: Sick Week Presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, February 1st through the 7th. Discounted advance tickets and event details are available at the Sick Week event page by CLICKING HERE!
