Bryant Goldstone has accomplished a lot in his racing career, and put together an impressive resume in the drag and drive segment of it as well.

After nearly fifteen years of proving the streetability and on-track performance of both his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, and his familiar 1973 AMC Javelin, Goldstone continues to rack up victories.

This includes his back-to-back Rocky Mountain Race Week MEGAWEEK and Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks event wins in June of 2025.

Now, his attention turns to his Unlimited class '53 Corvette and prepping for Hot Rod Drag Week. Goldstone recently filled us in on his remaining 2025 plans, including the storied AMC's future.

For the third time in six days, Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks would start its morning at Byron Dragway for Day Five, the final day, of Sick Summer 2025.

After several hundred miles, bad weather that forced a cancellation of one day of racing, and four tracks visited, over 300 competitors returned to Illinois for the final day, last passes down the track, and crowning class champions.

Day Two of Sick Summer Presented By Motion Raceworks would prove to be just as hot as the first, in both temperature in the air and action on the race track.

The crowds have always been massive at Great Lakes Dragaway, and the drag and drive faithful would once again flock to Wisconsin for all the action on track, along the drive, and at the checkpoints.

Following a busy day of tech and testing, 342 rides returned to the staging lanes for Day One activities at Sick Summer Presented By Motion Raceworks.

The crowd was once again massive for a summer Monday, and they were treated to some stellar runs and close competition, as the classes got assembled on standings for the first time this week.

With lanes full of street and strip ready rides, Byron Dragway got Day Zero underway early on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15th for the third annual Sick Summer Presented by Motion Raceworks.

Tech inspection was followed by a test and tune in the afternoon, and the crowds came to see how well cars and drivers were sorted for the week of driving and racing through Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa over the next five days.

Bryant Goldstone, Steve Morris, David Diehl, Nick Cryer, Josh Davis, and the return of the ‘Cheap Car Challenge’ were among the big talking points of the day.

The second drag and drive to hit the scene, Rocky Mountain Race Week, has done at least one event a year to put people and their vehicles through their paces in the central part of the United States.

For 2025 to celebrate their 10th anniversary, Matt Frost ratcheted things up a bit by creating MEGAWEEK, with over 500 competitors participating in a unique two group format for seven days to crown 40 class champions, as well as Shootout winners.

Once a year, the National Hot Rod Association visits Joliet, Illinois and Route 66 Raceway for their Gerber Collision and Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK Performance.

Part of this event is the PEAK Street Car Shootout, showcasing some of the quickest rides in the drag and drive community, and for the third year in 2025, eight contestants rolled into Illinois to determine the champion.

Leading the eight rides would be the defending champion Schroder-Ens team, with David Schroeder at the wheel of the nitrous-fed C7 Corvette. 2023 event winner Bryant Goldstone returned at the wheel of his ’73 AMC Javelin, looking for a second title in three years.

The remaining six spots included Tom Bailey with the ‘Sick Seconds 2.0’ 1969 Camaro, Craig Groebner and his twin-turbo ’71 Chevrolet Nova, Alex Taylor’s ’55 Chevrolet, the ’82 Camaro of Nick Taylor, Tom McGilton and his 2013 Camaro, and the lone naturally-aspirated ride, the ’85 Ford Mustang of Ed Ensor.

A five-second stage has been set for Sick Week 2025 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive, with a brutal assortment of street legal machines preparing for what may be the quickest and fastest drag-and-drive event in history.

Ever since Tom Bailey’s historic 5.99 run at Hot Rod Drag Week in 2019, drag-and-drive fans have been waiting for a repeat of the feat. It seemed for a period that interest in the Unlimited class and its road-going Pro Mods had waned, but an explosion of new rides has put high expectations on Sick Week 2025 Presented By Gear Vendors Overdrive (January 27 - February 1).

The combination of excellent VP Racing track preparation and sea-level weather conditions will provide the ideal environment for quick times at the event voted as USA Today's Best Motorsports Race for 2024 and Drag Illustrated's Event of the Year in 2023.

As the drag-and-drive world continues to gain steam with more events and bigger performances, there are a small group of people that are doing their part to bring a little more attention to the community.

One of them is Bryant Goldstone, a competitor that has re-written the record book in the Ultimate Iron / Unlimited Iron classes with a 1973 AMC Javelin that’s become a staple at drag-and-drive events.

Today at the Performance and Racing Industry (PRI) show in Indianapolis, Bryant pulled the cover off his newest effort for drag-and-drive in 2025.

There are a lot of stock to mildly-modified rides in the drag-and-drive world, but thousands of cars and trucks demand more of the cooling system, more of the fueling system, and in turn, the electrical components associated to survive.

This is where XS Power Batteries comes in, as a reliable energy source in many forms, and they joined us on Sick Week in 2024. “I had talked to Tom about doing a drag-and-drive event last year,” said Remy Viator of XS Power Batteries. “I’m glad we could be a part of Sick Week in 2024.”

Although XS Power Batteries isn’t new to the game in the battery wars, they may not be as well known on the drag-and-drive side to some, but that is changing.

He may have gotten his start in drag-and-drive with a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, but the black and red AMC Javelin of Bryant Goldstone has become a well known ride. Based on its percentage of events completed, class wins, and records broken and set, Goldstone has set the bar for the Unlimited Iron class.

But this week will bring the reveal of a new ride for Goldstone in 2025, as he takes aim on quicker times, and the Unlimited class.

What could Goldstone’s new ride be? The Performance & Racing Industry show in Indy will give us the first look at the new ride in the XS Power booth.

The drag-and-drive community started with one event, Hot Rod Drag Week, in 2005. That event has grown into a movement with a large community of participants and fans, over 40 different events across multiple countries, and influenced thousands of car and truck builds to prove they can survive the street and the strip torture tests known by many as drag-and-drive.

There are a only a select few that have seen it all since the beginning, and Rick Johnson with Gear Vendors Overdrive is one of those people.

Bryant Goldstone has been a player in the drag-and-drive game for over a decade. 2024 was playing out like a dream for Goldstone leading up to Hot Rod Drag Week, with a trio of major event victories.

Could he keep the 6-second 200+ mph laps coming at Drag Week and earn another title, or would a nightmare Did Not Finish await him at the twentieth running of Hot Rod Drag Week?

It’s been noted how the creation of the drag-and-drive event can be linked to Hot Rod Pump Gas Drags, and even the True Street classes held by various organizations and events. But even more so, the proving ground of cars and trucks that can race and retain street manners is rooted in the Fastest Street Car event, and that event inspired the recent Fastest Street Car (FSC) Shootout and Reunion Race at Tri-State Raceway held on August 10th.

With the increase in the number of drag-and-drive events in the last three years, it’s becoming more commonplace to see competitors at more than one event during a calendar year. There are several that have made their mark in the drag-and-drive world, and one of the top ones is Bryant Goldstone.

The quickest Sick Summer in history, will it be topped?

Six days of driving and racing reached the ultimate conclusion last night, as the tenth running of Rocky Mountain Race Week Presented by Sick the Magazine hit the finish line at Tulsa Raceway Park in Oklahoma.

After five days of racing and driving, Rocky Mountain Race Week 1.0 has one final drive today, back to where it all started, Tulsa Raceway Park in Oklahoma for a packed final day of crowning winners and racing action.

The drag-and-drive community can get a harsh reminder that just surviving the week is the top task. Then again, Rocky Mountain Race Week 1.0 is still seeing some competitors clocking insane times, and the index classes continue to be close battle grounds.

To kick off the 2024 Rocky Mountain Race Week, Tulsa Raceway Park hosted 314 vehicles and 12 motorcycles on Sunday. With racing activities completed that evening, the Monday ‘workload’ would be who could survive 350-ish miles from Oklahoma to Texas to stage up on Tuesday for day two of racing, and day three of the week.
