Steve Morris Eyes Return To Sick Summer With the ‘Boostmaster’ Station Wagon Going for 6-Second Runs On Drag Radials, and a Couple Surprises in Store!

After starting his 2026 by co-piloting with wife Val Morris in her new Camaro known as ‘Better Half’ at Sick Week presented by Gear Vendors Overdrive, Steve Morris got to watch Val score her first drag and drive victory.

But Steve has been busy with the ‘Boostmaster’ station wagon, making the switch from slicks to drag radial tires for this season. And after a successful outing at the Mickey Thompson Turn & Burn event last month, Steve is looking to build on that momentum at the Motion Raceworks Sick Summer event, starting next week on June 14th.

The start of summer - Sick Summer presented by Motion Raceworks, is just DAYS AWAY - June 14th-19th, 2026. Don’t miss your chance to join us in 3 states, at 4 tracks, for 5 days of sun and fun with hundreds of enthusiasts on a road trip and drag race that checks all the right boxes! The Morris family brought both rides to the Mickey Thompson Turn & Burn event centered around Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. And although the outing resulted in not only a pair of class wins, but also a pair of 6-second averages, 6.93 for Val, and a 6.83 average for Steve.

But the first-time event also showed that campaigning both cars at the same event could be difficult. “It was a great outing, but it was far more difficult than I figured,” said Steve.

That will lead to a different pair of cars than some might expect at next week’s Sick Summer presented by Motion Raceworks, as the ‘Sugar Momma’ Chevrolet Malibu is set to return. The big block-powered G-body, completed with a pair of Torqstorm superchargers, will compete with daughter Katelyn at the wheel, and Val will be co-piloting.

Steve’s well-known station wagon will also make the trip to Byron Dragway, but with an unknown co-pilot at the moment. “I’m giving clues on who in my video,” said Steve. He also details some of the changes to the wagon since the Drop The Hammer event, held the final weekend of May, below:
